Overview
This Privacy Policy describes what information Skedaddle Enterprises, Inc. ("Skedaddle," "we," "us") collects when you visit this website or join our waitlist, and how we use, share, and protect it.
Information we collect
- Waitlist signups. If you submit your email through a waitlist form, we store your email address, the page you signed up from, a timestamp, and basic technical details (such as your browser's user agent string).
- Site analytics. We log anonymous pageview events: the page visited, the referring page, a randomly generated visitor id stored in your browser, and a coarse, city/country-level location resolved from your IP address via a third-party geolocation lookup. We do not store your full IP address ourselves.
We do not collect payment information, government ID numbers, or precise GPS location through this website.
How we use information
We use waitlist emails to notify you about Skedaddle's launch and product updates. We use pageview analytics, in aggregate, to understand which pages are visited and roughly where from, so we can improve the site. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
How long we keep information
We retain waitlist signups until you ask us to delete them (see Your choices, below) or until a reasonable period after the product has launched and the waitlist has served its purpose. Pageview analytics records are retained in aggregate for site-improvement purposes.
Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the information associated with your email address at any time by contacting us through the support page. We will honor deletion requests for waitlist data unless we are required to keep it for a legitimate business or legal reason.
Children's privacy
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Third parties
We use Firebase (Google Cloud) to store waitlist and analytics data, and a third-party IP geolocation API to resolve coarse location for analytics. These providers process data on our behalf and under their own security and privacy commitments. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Security
We use Firebase's built-in access controls and security rules to restrict who can read or write waitlist and analytics data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Skedaddle iOS app
The Skedaddle iOS app collects the following, in addition to the website data described above:
- Account information. Name, email address, and profile details you provide when creating an account.
- Location. With your permission, we collect precise or coarse device location to help you find and join nearby meetups. You can disable location access at any time in iOS Settings.
- Photos and camera. With your permission, we access your photo library or camera when you choose to upload a profile photo or event image.
- Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we store your device's push token (via Apple Push Notification service) to send you updates about events and messages.
- Device and usage data. Device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and basic in-app analytics (screens viewed, features used).
The app requests iOS permissions (Location, Photos/Camera, Notifications) only when needed for the corresponding feature. Denying a permission may limit related functionality but will not block use of the rest of the app. We use Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, data storage, and push notification delivery, and Apple's Push Notification service to deliver notifications.
